A book I wrote while back that takes you on a step-by-step tour of how to write Visual Basic programs. The book is for VB 6.0 environment.

Coalbed Methane Related Software.

A series of software applications and databases developed at West Virginia University by my graduate students.
• WVU-CBM Reservoir Simulator. (Bugs Fixed December 2005)
  This is a fully windows-based reservoir simulator for Coalbed Methane reservoirs with graphical user interface for input and output. It is intended for non-reservoir modelers. It is a single-well, radial model. This simulator provides a set of unique tools such as a batch module for making many unattended runs as well as a Monte Carlo simulation module for analysis under uncertain conditions.
• WVU-CBM Literature Database.
  This is a database that includes all the technical papers and technical reports relating to coalbed methane. It includes papers from SPE and CBM Symposiums and reports from DOE and GRI.
• WVU-CBM Reservoir Characteristics Database.
  This database includes all the published desorption and reservoir characteristics data for the CBM reservoirs, organized by basins. Any such data that has appeared in the literature has been extracted and organized to be used by researchers and developers. Basic statistics such as minimum, average and maximum for each characteristics is also provided.

Intelligent Systems Related Software Applications.

This set of software applications include an elaborate software developed for engineers to automatically design optimum hydraulic fractures for low permeability reservoirs and a neural network software for training neural models based on recurrent neural network algorithms. These applications have been developed at West Virginia University by my graduate students.
• Intelligent, Optimum Hydraulic Fracture Designer.
  This software brings the art and science of designing optimum hydraulic frctures for low permeability reservoirs to all the engineers. All you need is a set of common geo-physical logs from a well. The software generates the stress profile and designs an optimum frac job for you and provides you with the details of the design. It also provides you with the pressure profile that you can expect to see while pumping the recommended frac job.
  
• Recurrent Neural Network.
  A neural network shell for development of recurrent models.
